Zayn Malik to bring out book of life, at 23-years-old

For a guy who has only had one real single and was on the fringe of a successful boy band, is Zayn Malik a little bit above his station to be launching a collection of stories, photographs and illustrations documenting his “brief” rise to fame?

Well, regardless of our thoughts, it’s happening. The book is apparently ‘not an autobiography’, but rather an ‘intimate and raw scrapbook of his life’. Prepare to see a mix of drawings, personal thoughts and ‘never-seen-before’ pictures of Malik. Oh, we’re buzzing for those…

The former One Direction star has struck a deal with publisher Penguin Random House (they have always done kids books very well!), with the book set to be released on 1st November 2016.

Now famous across the pond, the book will help Zayn open up about his upbringing in Northern England, his experience as a contestant on Simon Cowell’s ‘X Factor’ show and his experience as both a band member of 1D and as a solo artist.

Aged just 23, Zayn parted ways with One Direction back in 2015, just months before the rest of the band began their hiatus as a group. Since then, he has had one hit track (Pillow Talk) from his first album ‘Mind on Mine’, which was released in March 2016. He has this to say about his new book launch:

“I’m going to show you as much as I can so that you can judge me on my own terms, not on what the press or anyone else says.”

It is rumoured that Malik is also stepping up his work in other areas. In addition to the book, he is also said to be working with ‘Law & Order’ creator Dick Wolf on a TV series centred on a fictional boy band called ‘Boys’.
