Artist Profiles > Adele

Born a London girl, Adele has gone on to become one of the UK's biggest selling singer/songwriters ever, since taking influence from none other than the Spice Girls to go on and perfect a musical career. She released her first album "19" as a teenager and threw us all with her powerfully unique voice and girl-next-door persona. She was that favoured among the Brits, even the then prime minister Gordon Brown sent her a letter of thanks for "being the light at the end of the tunnel" despite the country's financial issues.

Since then, Adele has gone on to have many more records and blitz charts all over the world, becoming one of the iconic figures of the UK. She also has a wealth of awards to her name include six Grammy's and five Brits. Not bad! She is currently taking time out since giving birth to her first child, but will release a third album in the not-to-distant future.
